"Grand as it is, planet Earth is part of something even grander- that great plan of God. Simply summarized, the Earth was created that families might be." Elder Russell M. Nelson

Me, Sister Berger, Sister and Brother Benesch.

I have no experience, I hope that this is the proper way to carry a wayward lamb.

Today I made teriyaki meatballs out of pork mince with rice which tasted really good to me.

Today was the practice for our Primary Sacrament meeting program.  For such a few children, it went rather well.

Practice was somewhat like herding cats.

These two love to take their own picture.

Seminary and preparations, feeding gthe elders and evening meeting with the branch correlation committee.

Thursday, October 13, 2016

My turn to teach seminary and the lesson was on Gog and Magog, always a fun subject to discuss. We had zone training meeting by phone.  They are pushing for 125 investigators to attend sacrament meeting in October.

We learned Brother Benesch had been sick with some kind of gastritits and became dehydrated and collapsed.  He is in the hospital and his wife is feeding 18 lambs by herself.  We went to Gyra to see him in the hospital.

Brother Frank Benesch, looking better today but still being kept in the hospital until test results return

Today the elders taught seminary which is a nice change for all once in a while.  We tried to set up appointments for visits.  It has been cold again, about 57 degrees F for a high.

Today was our day to clean our chapel windows inside and out and window/door frames.  We had a good group and enjoyed doing the work and eating pizza for lunch.

Jeremy and Tessa MacDonald dusting and washing

Kristin discovered that if you color over a marker drawing on the bricks with marker and then wipe over it, the mark comes off, great to know!

The bucket is almost as big as Tessa but she is determined.

Whatever needs to be done, our newest member, JoAnn, is happy and willing to assist

 Toby, Tessa and mom, Kate

Brother MacDonald, Michael, gets the job of clearing off the spider webs

Brother Smith enjoys a little help from Jeremy in cleaning the windows outside

Devika Wilson, mother Kristy Ford, Brie Wilson

Devika was here to practice her primary song after we completed our cleaning.  She is adorable.  This little family has huge challenges and my thoughts are constantly on what we can do to help

PIZZA

While cleaning, Brother MacDonald asked us to come over to watch a Rugby league game and have dessert.  We are fasting missionwide as missionaries for assistance on finding 125 investigators by Christmas so we declined dessert but enjoyed watching and learning about Rugby.

Primary Sacrament meeting program is here and over.  It went well considering our size and some of the characters we have.  I had to text the mother of one of our girls and she was in bed but got her daughter ready and we sent Brother MacDonald to pick her up.  Oh my....

Sister Berger introducing program

Children singing Scripture Power

Lucy giving scripture

Brother Hoffman has been the main primary teacher for more than ten years.  He spoke on his feelings about teaching the Book of Mormon.

Joshua Smith talks about his fravorite bible hero, Daniel

Lucy talking about Alma the Younger, her favorite Book of Mormon hero

Devika singing Search, Ponder and Pray

Brother Smith spoke on the Prophet Joseph Smith

After our program I gave the children the frosted sugar cookies I made for them and handed out birthday candy bars.  It has been a very full day and fasting for the missionary effort added an additional spirit to the experience.  I am tired.
