"Grand as it is, planet Earth is part of something even grander- that great plan of God. Simply summarized, the Earth was created that families might be." Elder Russell M. Nelson

Our neighbor, Theresa, asked us to birdsit her Budgee bird for a couple of weeks.  His name is Huey.  We are enjoying him. I think that we would enjoy him even more if he was a chicken. At least we might get eggs or maybe a drumstick or two.

On our drive, always so much beauty.

I took this picture out of the car window as we were driving on a back road to Guyra. If you look closely, you will see a joey checking us out from the pouch. They tell me that getting a view like this of a joey in the pouch is quite rare. We were pretty far out in the bush.

I hope that this is not a new product from BYU sold only in Australia. However, it would make the BYU vs Utah game even more exciting.

Elder and Sister Dinger, the Church History missionaries out of Sydney but from Salt Lake, came to Armidale to take a oral history from President and Sister Sully and Brother Benesch.  We went to the Benesch farm and of course, enjoyed the lambs that have a couple of more weeks of bottle feeding before they can join the herd in the field.

Narelle, Sister Benesch, calling the lambs for their feeding

Elder and Sister Dinger with Narelle

The lambs seem to like trimming the vegetation around the yard.

Narelle has a real sense of decorating; love this bedroom

On the way to President Sully's farm to take his oral history

We came onto this view if a sheep pasture that we felt was quite beautiful The grass looks like a golf course and the pond has an island with a tree. This is on the way to Sully's.

As Brother Benesch was called away to an auto accident, we rescheduled his oral history for today.
The Dingers had breakfast with us and here we are waiting for Brother and Sister Benesch.

In front of our flat after the history was completed.  We served breakfast.  Dingers are on their way back to Sydney. Brother Benesch's conversion story brought tears to all of us. It was miraculous.

Saturday-Sunday, October 9-10, 2016

We joined together as a branch to view General Conference and enjoyed pizza on Saturday between sessions and coldcuts, veggies and rolls between sessions on Sunday along with my contribution, a Texas sheetcake.

In the middle, left to right Brother Graham and Sister Dorothy Styles, Sister Cath Betts

I found it much easier to stay awake in our branch group than watching at home sitting in my lazyboy chair which is common back home when watching on TV.  I wrote down parts of the talks that were meaningful to me: "Compound gear gives more torque", and I thought as we serve together we each contribute to a compound gear effect - "To be learned is good if ye hearken unto the counsels of God, avoid counterfeit offerings of so called truths" - "Judge the Savior's way, patiently and lovingly".
